Ounce weight is the real decision, not the shape. 8oz is light and the most economical to run in volume, which is what you want for a mass handout where cost per piece decides everything. 10oz and 12oz stand upright on their own. 16oz is the heaviest we stock and the one that still looks right after a year of daily use.

The difference shows most when the bag is empty. A light canvas collapses; a 12oz or 16oz holds its shape on a desk or a shoulder. That single thing is what separates a bag people keep from a bag people fold into a drawer.

Canvas, laminated or Tyvek

Plain cotton canvas is the default and takes a digital print cleanly. Laminated canvas adds a coated, wipe-clean face — worth it when the bags will be handled outdoors or carry anything that might mark the cloth. Tyvek is the lightweight option that looks like kraft paper but does not tear, and it suits conference kits where weight matters.

Digital printing carries full colour, gradients and photographs, and reproduces a logo exactly as supplied. Laser engraving burns into the fibre instead of sitting on top, which gives a permanent tonal mark that cannot peel — but it cannot reproduce brand colours, because it exposes whatever is underneath the surface.

If your logo is one or two flat colours, either method works and engraving will outlast the bag. If it has a gradient, a photograph or exact brand colours, print it.

Sizes and handles

Short top handles sit in the hand and suit retail-style gifting. Long shoulder handles are the ones people actually reuse for commuting, which is where the repeat brand exposure comes from. Gusseted bases let the bag take a box or a laptop rather than flattening around it.
